Improving inequitable outcomes in pediatric cancer requires:

  • Collaborative research across representative populations to identify mechanisms underlying outcome disparities and optimal intervention targets to address them, and
  • The rapid development of novel health equity interventions designed to scale for efficacy evaluation in the context of multi-center pediatric oncology clinical drug trials.

The Consortium addresses a significant gap in centralized research infrastructure for investigators aiming to design and implement health equity research among children with cancer. Centralized methods expertise in this research space will increase the efficiency of health equity outcomes research conducted for this patient population, while concurrently ensuring evidence-based best practices in research conduct.
